Congratulations to Amanda Wilcox, an Orthopedic travel nurse with Republic Health Resources and our featured traveler of the month for April 2018. She is currently on assignment in Syracuse, NY.
We asked Amanda to share her experience and adventures as a Travel Nurse…
How long have you been traveling? 8 months
What has been your favorite city/town to work in? Syracuse
What has been your least favorite city/town? N/A
What do you love most about being a Travel Nurse?  Meeting new people on each assignment. And the money doesn’t hurt either!
Describe your most memorable Travel Nursing Experience. Well, there was that one time that my nursing license didn’t renew properly online and I had to leave the assignment to drive to the state capital and get it done in person. I thought for sure that it was going to be the worst first impression ever, but since I took care of it immediately, everything was fine. Don’t sweat the small stuff!
What advice do you have for a first-time traveler? Just dive in. You have all the skills you need to be successful. Nursing is the same, no matter where you are. Do your thing, trust in your skill set, and go with the flow. Travel nursing is EXTREMELY rewarding. Remember, you just need to trust that you will be okay in new environments.
