Did you know that Boston is home to the largest St Patrick’s Day Celebration outside of Ireland? Officially starting in 1901 and said to have been the first commemoration of the holiday in America in the 1700s, the massive parade route stretches along 3 miles through South Boston with an array of Irish delights and spectacles to see. With over 500,000 people in attendance from far and wide, and businesses participating throughout the city, there will be no shortage of entertainment and Irish cheer! If you’re thinking of heading towards the other coast this Spring, you’ll find that the mile-high city hosts one of the biggest city-wide celebrations west of the Mississippi! Denver’s St. Patrick’s Day parade is the county’s largest annual parade, attracting nearly 250,000 attendees from far and wide. Featuring grand floats, marching bands, hundreds of traditional Irish dancers, and even the Western-twist charm of horse-drawn stagecoaches. Pop into one of Denver’s many Irish pubs to get the celebrations started, and take full advantage of the festive atmosphere by immersing yourself in the rich culture of Ireland.
