Have you met Recruiting Consultant Dana Headley, one of Republic’s Senior Recruiters?
Dana has worked with the Republic Family for 5 years and most recently received our Quarterly Customer Service Award. Congratulations!
We asked Dana to share a little on her career as a Travel Nurse Recruiter and fun facts about herself!
How long have you been with Republic Health Resources?
How did you end up in recruiting?
I began in healthcare staffing in 2005 in an administrative role, and eventually worked my way into a nurse recruiter position – best move I ever made!
What is the best thing about your job?
I love presenting an offer to a nurse for a assignment she wants! I know it sounds basic, but building a relationship with a nurse, using teamwork, and getting an offer is a WIN-WIN! It definitely keeps you excited and energetic.
What’s the best advice you can give to a candidate is searching for a travel nursing contract?
Be open to considering all possibilities when securing a travel assignment. Some candidates narrow their chances of contracts because they only want specific locations. However, if you will be open and flexible beyond what you are/were originally looking for you WILL find hidden gems that you will absolutely love!
How would your travelers and/or colleagues describe your recruiting style?
My travelers and colleagues would describe me as helpful, funny, outgoing and very determined!
What is something that you have always wanted to do?
I have always wanted to travel to London.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of the cubicle walls?
I’m a homebody, so my husband and I love hanging out by the fire-pit after work, but we do often go to Dallas Star Hockey games, those are fun. Of course we also just love hanging out with friends and family!
If you could have a super hero power, what would it be and why?
I would choose a book character! I have always have loved Nancy Drew, who uses her sleuthing skills to solve mysteries!
