Monique an ICU Registered Nurse is our Featured Travel Nurse for July 2019. She is currently on break for three weeks before beginning an EMR conversion assignment in New York.
My first travel assignment was in January 2015, I have been traveling 4.5 years! Best decision EVER!
One of my most favorite places to visit was Bethel, Alaska
There were many reasons why I chose to become a travel nurse, but most of all I love meeting new people, learning new techniques, and visiting new cities.
I love being a travel nurse because I get to see the world, while making great money, meeting awesome people – whom I now call friends – all while enhancing my nursing skills! I really enjoy how open and diverse this experience as a travel nurse has been.
My most favorite place to visit was Bethel, Alaska. It was the most rural location, with a population of only 7,000, however I learned so much! The Alaskan Natives taught me how they hunt for food, and made me realize that I am blessed to have running water, transportation and affordable groceries. The Yu’pik language is one of the most unique languages spoken!
New comers…I will leave you with this :
“He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8
“I love meeting awesome people whom I now call friends!” Monique Parker, RN
