Sam Stover, an ER RN, is our Featured Travel Nurse of the Month for March 2019. She is currently on a travel nurse assignment in Goodyear, AZ.
We asked Samantha to share her experience and adventures as a Travel Nurse…
How long have you been traveling? 1 year
What has been your favorite city/town to work in? Goodyear, AZ
Why did you choose to become a Travel Nurse? I became a travel nurse because I wanted to explore the country while continuing to do what I love, being a nurse.
What do you love most about being a Travel Nurse? What I love most about being a travel nurse is the freedom, flexibility, and adventure. It is awesome to meet new people, explore new cities and learn new techniques at each facility. Travel nursing has allowed me to see how diverse and beautiful our country is.
Describe your most memorable Travel Nursing Experience. My most memorable experience as a travel nurse was taking a road trip to see the Grand Canyon. We left Phoenix where it was 76 degrees and got to the Grand Canyon where it was 32 degrees, snowing and a wind chill of 20. It was also so foggy we couldn’t see much of the Canyon! As the day progressed, it cleared up and we were able to capture a few good pictures. However, the weather was perfect for Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend….These are all places that should be on your bucket list!
What advice do you have for a first-time traveler? The best advice that I can offer a first time travel nurse is to choose a recruiter and company that you feel you can trust, that communicates effectively and has your best interests at heart. It is okay to be nervous. Travel with an open mind. Be flexible!
Make new friends, explore as much as you can and HAVE FUN!
We would love to connect with you!
